Elizabeth Wood, MFT

Hello! I use a relational psychoanalytic psychotherapy approach, integrating threads of Gestalt, Somatic, and Art therapies in my practice. I enjoy working with people navigating grief, depression, anxiety, and stress related to life transitions.

I opened my private psychotherapy practice in Santa Cruz, California in the Spring of 2022. I also work as a Senior Therapist at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals in their Emergency Department. In the spring of 2021, I completed training with the Palo Alto Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program (PAPPTP) – Fellowship Year at the Stanford University Psychiatry Building. I was selected to train further with their Two-Year Program in the fall of 2021.

After earning my master’s degree in psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California in 2017, I spent a year working on O’ahu for the State of Hawai’i Department of Education facilitating individual and group psychotherapy and art therapy with children. Upon moving back to California in 2018, I spent several years within the acute locked psychiatric crisis setting at the Santa Cruz County Behavioral Health Center.
